Lake Horicon Park
Lake Horicon Park is located at the corner of Union Avenue and Lake Street. Surrounding picturesque Lake Horicon, the park provides recreational opportunities for swimmers, joggers, or anyone who enjoys a peaceful, sylvan setting.
Playground equipment for young children is available in a shady location and provided with benches for parents to relax.
Lake Horicon Park is home to a pavilion with a brick fireplace that is the location for many community activities, such as the Easter Egg Hunt, July 4th celebration, and Halloween ghost stories.
Picnic table and grills are also available to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake.
Lake Horicon, a 63-acre stream-fed lake, is the recreational jewel of the Borough of Lakehurst.
A favorite of swimmers, the cedar water, is always refreshing as it is fed by two streams, Blacks' Branch and Hurricane Branch. A lifeguard is on duty at first beach from June 19th through September 1st from 12:00pm until 5:00pm daily.
A scenic nature trail winds its way around the rear of Lake Horicon. The Historical Society sponsors a Walking Tour of the nature trail several times a year. Call (732) 657-8864 for information regarding tours dates and times.
At the rear of the lake, more picnic benches and grills await those who have an appetite for a scenic view as well as lunch.
A footbridge allows visitors to cross onto a small island with a great view of the lake. A park bench affords a comfortable place to rest while enjoying the beautiful tree-lined lake.
Spring, summer, fall or winter, Lake Horicon is the place to be for recreation or just relaxing.
